President Terrence Oliver and Sharon Hill Borough Council, Mayor Dunfee, and the entire Sharon Hill Borough family grieves for Fanta Bility’s family and all those affected by last Friday’s tragedy at the Academy Park High School Football Game. This has been a difficult time for the entire Borough family. Council reviewed the District Attorney’s statement which determined that there is a high probability that the responsive gunfire of the Sharon Hill Police Officers struck four victims, including the shots that killed 8-year-old Fanta Bility and wounded her sister. The Sharon Hill Police Department has been fully cooperating with the District Attorney’s investigation and the Police Officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.

We want to thank District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and his County investigative team for their ongoing and thorough investigation to bring our community justice. To insure our Police Department’s training, policies, and procedures are at the forefront of community policing, Sharon Hill Borough Council will be engaging an outside firm to conduct an administrative investigation to ensure that all our policies and procedures were followed in relation to this incident. We again offer condolences to the Bility family and all those affected by this tragedy.
